Four short thrilling character pieces for solo piano. The portraits are based on familiar traditional Scottish melodies associated with the songs of Robert Burns and explore a wide range of moods and techniques. They were originally created for the annual dinners of the Glasgow Haggis Club, one of the oldest Burns clubs in the world. The pieces can be used as a set, individually or in combinations as required. They are ideal as a showcase for a strong pianist at Burns Suppers, Scottish/Celtic events or solo recitals.
